Dry Lumber
We use this kiln to speed up drying green wood. Drying the wood this way reduces the chance of defects and cracking better than air drying.
(It also does not generate CO² emissions)
We leveraged our initial barn setup for the solar (see the video links). The kiln design is a modification of the the kiln design developed in 1978 by Dr. Wengert from Virginia Tech and adapted to our landscape and available materials.
